Dental Cleanings & Exams
Regular visits to the dentist have been proven to help prevent dental decay and gum disease. These visits are vital to maintaining your oral health and for early detection of dental conditions.
Dr. Dodson and our dental hygienists work together to monitor your dental health and perform preventive treatments to help keep your smile healthy.
Our recommended oral health regimen for children and adults includes:
Routine Cleanings & Check-ups
We recommend that our patients visit our office every 3-6 months for routine preventive care. At this visit, your dental hygienist will remove stains, plaque and tartar build-up from the surfaces of the teeth. We will take necessary digital xrays and Dr. Dodson will perform a dental examination to evaluate the condition of the teeth, gums and jaw joints. We may prescribe fluoride treatments or sealants for your child to help prevent tooth decay. Learn more about children's dentistry.
Maintaining Your Oral Health
Home Care. We recommend that our patients brush and floss their teeth at least twice a day. The body's defense systems slow down during sleep, so it is especially important to thoroughly clean the teeth, gums and tongue just before bedtime to minimize bacteria levels in the mouth.
Oral Health & Nutrition. A balanced diet based on the five food groups is also good for healthy teeth and gums. Read more about healthy eating at the American Dental Association® website, www.mouthhealthy.org.
